Day Shift Facility Coordinator

Position Summary: The Facility Coordinator/Plant General Utility is responsible for coordinating a number of supporting tasks around the facility, the transportation of production supplies to and finished product from plant workstations, as well as filling in where needed in the facility.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
– Operates corrugated baler and manages storage of recycled bales.
– Coordinates recycling program of cans, bottles, paper, etc.
– Manages certified waste stream programs including labeling of containers, inventory of each waste stream, and arranging monthly pickups with the vendor.
– Pulls, transfers, and stages material for production.
– Delivers necessary packaging materials (skids, boxes, etc.) to production areas as required.
– Delivers materials to off-unit departments
– Transports finished skids from off unit production areas to warehouse and wraps materials as required.
– Conducts monthly safety inspections including extinguisher, spill kits, and emergency lighting.
– Performs assigned Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) responsibilities.
– Reports any faulty equipment to production supervisor.
– Relieves plant employees for breaks and fills in for absences as needed.
– Completes daily inspection checklists on PITs prior to operation
– Develops an understanding of relevant ISO 9001 Standards and ensures processes are in compliance with quality requirements.
– Ensures all safety precautions are followed.
– Ensures work area is clean and stocked daily.
– Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and required skills:
– Excellent math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
– Strong computer skills; ability to learn Ludlow specific software and spreadsheets including but not limited to Excel and Outlook.
– Ability to use physical exertion such as prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching and climbing; ability to lift up to 50lbs. consistently.
– Ability to operate forklift in accordance with Ludlow Composites safety policy.
Education and experience:
– High school diploma or GED
– Two years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
– Two years of experience operating a forklift
