Supervisor, Maintenance – 2nd Shift

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor I leads the skilled technical personnel in the maintenance and repair of plant machinery, tooling, equipment and building services in a safe and effective manner.
Primary Responsibilities:

– Provides guidance, direction and training to personnel in respective areas as needed
– Ensures all work by skilled personnel is performed in a safe manner and in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards
– Prioritizes maintenance activities in accordance with production requirements to ensure minimal machine down time
– Implements and maintains work orders and ensures appropriate feedback is supplied to the initiators
– Develop and implement schedules and procedures for equipment repairs and preventative maintenance programs
– Meets with Operations to review production downtime and other production problems, and to assist in coordination of efforts to minimize effects of problems
– Ensures that items are available in tool crib and orders for replacement parts are submitted timely
– Ensures that 6S standards are being maintained within the maintenance/tooling department, tool crib and work areas
– Direct and allocate overtime hours as schedules require supporting all production activities
– Performs/assists in associate performance reviews and discussions
– Supports continuous improvement projects
– Participates in, and provides training as required
– Participates in and performs Layered Process Audits (LPA) per plan
– Ensures Housekeeping and Health & Safety Standards are maintained
– Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as TS 16949 and ISO 14001
– Utilizes the concepts of continuous improvement including Lean
– May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description

Education and Qualifications:

– Four year College or University Degree/Technical degree in Engineering/related field preferred
– Minimum of three years experience in automotive industry
– Prior leadership experience preferred
– Technical ability to solve complex problems and exercise judgement based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
– Experience in a variety of basic operations disciplines: Manufacturing, Quality, Process / Tooling and Shop Floor Supervision
– Proficient in Microsoft Office
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary

Work Environment/Work Conditions:

– Professional Office Environment
– Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor
– Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required
– Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
