The Maintenance Technician provides general facility/production equipment maintenance and repair. They support other maintenance associates in their day to day activities Preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance of assigned equipment. Assemble, trouble shoot or repair equipment; pushing heavy carts and dollies; lifting of moderately heavy objects, no limit on weight, but must use good judgment on how things are moved. Maintenance should have the ability to work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and climate conditions. While being able to be in regularly contact with and exposed to dust, dirt, grease, grime, and usual shop condition; general proficiency in the following skills-Hydraulics, electrical and pneumatics. Must be mechanically inclined; sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform all required tasks.
Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
Troubleshooting and repair of machine controllers.
Troubleshooting molding machine and auxiliary equipment problems.
Preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance of assigned equipment.
Record keeping of PM and repairs performed.
Use prints, operating manuals, sketches, and diagrams to dismantle, assemble, trouble shoot or repair equipment.
Communicate with OEM service representatives to aid in part ordering and problem solving.
Work in a safe and conscious manner.
Watch for and report/repair safety hazards immediately.
Report needs or maintenance and supplies.
Communicate equipment problems or unfinished jobs to next shift of maintenance and production supervisor.
Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment required to perform.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School Education and/or GED preferred and/or combination of experience, training, and education. Would prefer a two year degree in Industrial Maintenance or five years of experience in Industrial Maintenance.
Pass required company skill level testing.
Proficiency in the following skills: abilty to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, and pneumatics and theability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.
Ability to read and understand blueprints schematics, and machine manuals.
Use of addition, subtraction, multiplication and the division of numbers including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, computer scanning devices, use of adjustable measuring instruments; checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data; where interpretation is required involving basic knowledge.
Process knowledge of programmable logic control (PLC).
Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and machinery.
Working knowledge of plastic molding machine operations.
Ability to operate the more common types of machine shop equipment.
Must be mechanically inclined.
Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to get along with fellow associates, supervisors, and management.
Sufficient strength, agility, and dexterity to perform all required task.
Quality and quantity performance standards under normal supervision should be attained from one to three years.
Continuously lifting or moving material of light weight (up to 10 #).
Frequently lifting or moving average weight material (between 25# to 60#).
Occasionally lifting or moving heavy weight material (over 60#).
Must be able to climb equipment, ladders and steep stairs.
