PT Welding Lab Technician

Stark State is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to join our Industrial Engineering Technology Department as a part time welding lab technician. This part-time role plays a crucial part in supporting engineering technology laboratory activities as well as the Support Center. In this role, the right individual will take pride in facilitating student learning and ensuring the smooth operation of the assigned laboratories.
Typical Hours: (up to 29 hours per week)
Hours of work for this role are typically worked between Mon-Fri, 8a-5p (up to 29 hours per week). Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends, as needed. Please note that working hours are based on class and instructor needs.
Location: This position is for our Akron Welding and Joining center as well as the Main Campus Welding and Joining Center in addition to the support of other Engineering lab locations.
Pay: $19.75 – $25.67/hour, commensurate with experience.

Typical Responsibilities Include:
Ensure lab set-up and tear-down for classes for all labs and instructors; ensure proper functioning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Report any malfunctions or issues promptly.Operation of band saws, shears and other cutting devices to support course activities. Coordination of order, delivery and shipping and receiving of supplies related to welding classes (operation of hand motorized lift trucks) include metal stock, coupons, welding consumables and other supplies with Instructors. Responsible for mechanical and electrical repair and troubleshooting of welding and industrial and related equipment including fork truck, welders, lathes, shear, brakes, mills, and periodic maintenance of the filtration systems..Work with department chair(s) and coordinator(s) in daily coordination for the labs.This position is for our Akron Welding and Joining center as well as the Main Campus Welding and Joining Center in addition to the support of other Engineering lab locations.

To be Considered Youll Need:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
A minimum of two years of experience in an industrial or related field is required.
Valid OH drivers license with an insurable driving record.
