Your Title: Service Technologies Specialist
Job Location: Dayton, OH
The primary role of the Service Technologies Specialist is to assess serviceability of products and provide timely and current technical information, documentation, training and recommended tooling for the service and support of Trimble products at release and throughout the life of the products. The Service Technologies Specialist shall provide support to regional service centers, Service Parts Manager and Product Manager/engineering.
What You Will Do:
Participate with cross-functional Product teams for Service Strategy of new products throughout the T5 Project Process.
Submit STEDD (Service Technologies Engineering Design Document) to Engineering. Maintain STEDD document as required.
Review for serviceability of new products. Participate with Engineering for the optimization of serviceability within the design process.
Conception, planning, writing and publication of new service manuals. Updating and maintenance of Service Manuals, as required.
Write and publish Service Bulletins based on Global Services requirements.
Define recommended and required Service Parts and Service Tooling. Submit initial forecast of parts and tools.
Create and maintain service tooling list.
Define specifications of Service Software modules and updates. Perform testing of Service Software in Trimble Atlas.
Maintain product and service parts in system of record (EOL, EOS dates, repairable flag, warranty labor rates, recommended repair times
Provide Service Support – Service Technologies is the 1st point of contact for Regional Service Centers and Trimble Support.
Training: develop training content. Train Regional Service Centers trainers. Review and update training materials for product changes.
Report to Product Management, Quality and R&D departments product issues identified by the Service organization.
Participate in Global Services projects
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring:
Candidate must have the ability to conceive, plan and document service repair. Must understand the product application in detail.
Must be a team player. Many of the resources necessary for success will not be in the direct control of the Service Technologies Specialist; he/she must be able to leverage those resources through sound organizational skills and teamwork.
Must be a problem solver and possess analytical decision making skills.
Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Strong computer skills required.
Good time management skills. Ability to work with little or no supervision and prioritize work based on customer requirements, while obtaining Trimble service technologies goals and objectives.
Must demonstrate the ability to understand the audience and modify the message for the audience.
Must demonstrate and project a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
Must be able to accept a high level of personal responsibility for product success in an environment of shared resources.
Must demonstrate the willingness to be a change agent and challenge conventional wisdom if the conventional wisdom stands in the way of success.
Experience with technical publication software.
Experience in project management.
Education/Experience
Minimum 4 years experience in technical service, engineering, training or support.
Associates degree / Bachelors of Science degree in electronics or relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
