Altarums Division of Population Health is pleased to announce an opening for a Behavioral Health Project Manager. This position leads cross-functional teams and interfaces with clients, staff, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.
The Project Manager also works to build the capacity and readiness of publicly funded agencies and organizations in a variety of sectors (e.g., behavioral health, social and human services, public health, criminal justice) to enhance the quality of behavioral health services and improve behavioral health outcomes.
The Project Manager will provide oversight of technical assistance and training to various professionals and paraprofessionals across diverse settings and contribute to deliverables, including but not limited to webinars, podcasts, publications, and newsletters. The Project Manager will also establish and maintain positive client relationships, identify and pursue opportunities for new business, and mentor other training and technical assistance team members. ResponsibilitiesAssess, plan, and provide training and technical assistance in the implementation of behavioral health services, including behavioral health crisis services, evaluation, and other behavioral health services. Lead, design, and deliver training and technical assistance on a variety of content areas associated with best practices in behavioral health crisis services and evaluation services.Provide consultative expertise and recommendations to clients and internal teams as requestedDevelop technical assistance packages, publications, reports, memos, tools, toolkits, online learning courses, webinar presentations, and podcastsWork collaboratively with other Altarum staff on projects, and collaboratively with other external TA providers Work directly with clients to ensure that projects are executed successfully and with high-quality Provide thought leadership, foster new partnerships, and provide project/client management capabilities as neededContribute to federal, state, and philanthropic proposal efforts Plan and manage projects with minimal guidance from Project DirectorsManage project budgets in Altarum project management system and make decisions on adjustments and improvements in order to effectively execute the project Manage staff time and tasks on projectsFoster relationships with clients, including building strong communication with clients and serving as a primary contact to provide consultation and solutions Manage statements of work for subcontracts with partners, consultants, vendorsReview and approve project related invoices and paymentsMay be assigned to supervise employees, including but not limited to onboarding, performance evaluations, career development, and timesheet approvalQualificationsMasters degree in counseling, psychology, social work, public health, human development, child psychology, family studies, social sciences, public administration, business administration, or related field Minimum ten (10) years work experience post masters degree, including specific experience in behavioral health Minimum of five years of relevant Project/Program Management experience, preferably within the behavioral health or community health fieldExperience with behavioral health crisis services preferredExperience working with federal partners preferredExperience working with mid-level and senior clinical and/or administrative leaders in diverse settingsAbility to travel approximately 20% of the timeKnowledge of behavioral health program operations at the federal, state, and local levelsAbility to provide team leadership, work as an effective team member, as well as work independently with minimal supervisionExperience managing, coordinating, or contributing to large-scale proposal efforts desiredKnowledge & Competencies RequiredPrinciples and practices of recovery-oriented and
