General Laborer

Description:

Aerotek is looking to hire general laborers for a 6 week project on site in Detroit at Detroit Aggregate. Their job duties will be the following:

-Loading bags of sand, slag, and other base concrete mix material into loaders to feed into tanker trucks.

-Moving pallets on/off of trucks, and stacking pallets of finished product

-Shoveling sand, slag, other concrete mix

-Cleaning the work area

-Breaking up rocks

Shift: 2-10 PM (Monday – Friday)

OT is VERY unlikely so 40 hours a week. One half hour break for lunch in the middle of the shift with small breaks throughout the rest of the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVE:

1. Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively through 8 hr shift

1a. They are lifting bags of sand, rocks, concrete material.

2. Ability to work outside in the elements for 8 hr shift

2a. Candidates need to come from an outdoor labor experience and be comfortable working in all types of weather conditions.

3. Ability to bend, twist, squat for entire duration of shift

3a. Candidates need to be acceptant of the fact that this will be grueling and they will probably be sore after their shifts.

4. Ability to wear a respirator for duration of shift when needed – some particles from the mix are very dusty.

4a. Candidates cannot have long or thick facial hair as the respirator needs to sit flush to their skin.

4b. These respirators will be painter respirators, they go over the mouth but not the full face.
