Job Description
This position provides support to the Office of the Great Lakes (OGL) in implementing OGL’s policy and program areas and assisting with other general tasks in support of the work of the OGL. The position will be responsible for assisting OGL staff with special projects and initiatives and meeting and event planning related to Great Lakes education and outreach, specifically the From Students to Stewards Initiative. The position will assist with coordinating projects and requests for proposals; conducting research and analysis; compiling information; developing reports, policy, and briefing documents; and preparing correspondence. The position will assist with the coordination of meetings and events potentially involving tribal governments, business and industry, local units of government, academia, and philanthropy to support the work of the office on education and outreach projects and related grant management.

This is a non-career position that is limited to 29 hours per week and 129 hours per calendar month.
The selected candidate may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule (combination of remote and in-person). Employees approved for schedules that include remote work must complete that work within Michigan. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed. When working remote, employees must use a designated workspace that is safe and professionally appropriate, allows for privacy, minimizes distractions, and includes secure internet access. Details regarding work location and schedule options for this position may be discussed during the interview process.
