This position directs the work of professional staff assigned to the Community Options Support and Services Section in order to meet assigned program and agency requirements, federal and state laws and mandates, rules and regulations for programs. This position is responsible for guiding, directing, and overseeing the work of the Section and its contracted vendors and grantees. This position maintains and monitors the programs and compliance with policy, and state and federal reporting requirements. Section staff have statewide responsibilities in the areas related to the person-centered options counseling program, State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) program, legal assistance and other related programs. This position is responsible for liaison activities between the department and grantees/plans/agencies regarding contract or grant issues, contract monitoring, reporting, data collection, contract compliance, quality, training and any issues that arise. This position provides technical assistance to the ACS division director and grantee agencies. This position assists the division director and bureau director with planning and management of division work, as needed.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Alternate Education and Experience
Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
Additional Requirements and Information
The physical location of this position is 400 S. Pine St. Lansing, MI 48933. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.
Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
o A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
o A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
o Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
