JOB REQUIREMENTS: Provide a safe, successful, and well supervised
educational setting for children (classroom and outdoor play area).
Promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of
Head Start children. Develop individual goals for children, provide
on-going assessment on progress and facilitate transition into
kindergarten. To ensure compliance with the Head Start Program
Performance Standards and WI DCF Child Care Licensing Regulations.
General Duties Actively supervises and monitors children at all times to
ensure their safety. Daily child attendance and frequent head counts.
Implements a system to ensure accurate CACFP Meal Counts are taken at
point of service. Promotes the social, emotional, physical, and
cognitive development of Head Start children. Provides a quality
learning environment. Provides an atmosphere that promotes and
reinforces parental involvement in the classroom. Adapts curriculum to
address and meet individual goals for children as identified in their
individualized education plans. Assesses individual and group needs,
attending to special needs, specific interests, strengths, and concerns.
Develops and utilizes integrated curriculum plans, which reflect child
outcomes, parental and cultural influences. Develops weekly lesson plans
and goals that promote individual and group experiences. Prepares
classroom materials to support developmentally appropriate curriculum
plans; creates and changes learning environment as needed. Implements
positive child guidance and behavior management strategies. Follows a
consistent schedule, which includes small and large group experiences,
choice time, music and movement, large and small motor activities, skill
development, meals, and effective transitions. Implements effective
Intentional Teaching Strategies. (CLASS) Encourages experimentation,
exploration, problem solving, cooperation and socialization. Asks
open-ended questions and listens respectfully to the answers.
Participates in developmental screenings and referral process within 45
days of childs enrollment. Documents baseline and ongoing assessment
(3 times per year) of children in TS GOLD. Completes two (2) educational
home visits and two (2) parent teacher conferences. Communicates
regularly with parents regarding each childs progress. Works with
appropriate agencies in developing specialized services for children as
needed. Documents all significant classroom issues, parent contacts and
home visits. Reports suspected child abuse and neglect. On-Going
Cleaning and Sanitizing. Additional Job Responsibilities Assists in
planning and conducting Parent Committee Meetings and Family Activities.
Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings to plan for and
deliver collaborative services. Assists in general maintenance and
security of facility. Responsible for Home Connection In-Kind. Attends
agency meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
Coordinates work schedule to meet program needs. Other duties as
assigned. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors
Degree in Early Childhood. Must have a minimum of an Associate Degree in
Early Childhood Education in accordance with Federal Head Start
Performance Standard 1302.91(e)(2)(ii) OR Non-ECE degree with equivalent
coursework in ECE (at least 18 related credits) and early education
teaching experience in accordance with Federal Head Start Performance
Standard 1302.91(e)(2); 648A(a)(2)(A)(ii) of the Head Start Act. A
certificate from The Registry documenting the person has met the
educational qualifications for the position under sub. (3) if the person
has worked as a teacher, director, or administrator at the center for at
least 6 months in accordance with Wisconsin State Day Care Licensing DCF
