Portfolio Management Manager/Analyst Lead
3-month contract to hire
Hybrid in Minneapolis
Job Overview: The Portfolio Management Manager is responsible for leading the Strategic Prioritization and Planning (SPP) Operations team. This includes overseeing resource capacity analysis, managing the intake process, and providing comprehensive reporting on various initiatives and portfolios. The role involves developing a reporting strategy, streamlining processes, and driving continuous improvement to enhance efficiency across all related functions. The Manager will collaborate with key stakeholders to identify challenges, improve resource allocation, and maintain high-quality standards in project and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership (30%): Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the SPP Operations team. Set clear goals and expectations, ensuring efficient workflow, and fostering transparent communication. Develop and maintain team processes and documentation to streamline operations.
Reporting (30%): Develop and execute a reporting strategy. Collaborate with technical teams to gather requirements, analyze data, and generate reports. Ensure data integrity and provide insights to support decision-making.
Project Intake (15%): Oversee the project intake process. Work with business sponsors and stakeholders to assess project requests and facilitate cross-portfolio constraint discussions to ensure resource optimization.
Resource Capacity & Planning (15%): Analyze resource capacity, utilization, and demand patterns. Use data-driven techniques to forecast future resource constraints and make recommendations to optimize allocation. Continuously improve resource planning tools and processes.
Prioritization & Trade-offs (10%): Manage the prioritization and trade-off decision process for projects. Ensure that project scope changes and other disruptions are handled efficiently, collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather insights.
Qualifications:
6-7 years of relevant experience in technical and/or business environments.
A four-year degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
