Job Description
BAE Systems is hiring a Program Manager (PM) to support our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business. The PM will join an established team on the Systems Technical Support (STS) program overseeing the existing and proposed programs for the M109A7 and M992A3 PIM Family of Vehicles. The PM will need to flex their schedule to accommodate US time zone differences when supporting both internal and customer meetings, most of which occur on US Eastern Time. This PM position can by Hybrid from any CMS site, with the ability to travel 25% of the time anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and programmatic management oversight of project teams assuring projects meet financial, schedule, scope, and technical objectives, and achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Develop and execute project plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
Responsible for completion of project deliverables meeting customer requirements and their on-time delivery.
Identify and assess performance gaps to customer expectations or project objectives; develop and initiate improvement plans to close the gaps and utilize metrics to verify performance to plan.
Make timely decisions with sound judgment while always complying with policies and procedures.
Support frequent meetings with the project team and customers.
Indirectly manage, lead, and develop project team members across several functions.
Coordinate with supporting functions on project problems to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
Partner with scheduling and the project team to develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and the manage project team s performance to the IMS.
Motivate and lead teams from multiple sites and/or cultures, including customers, industry partners, and suppliers.
Successfully navigate through cultural differences to understand unique customer customs, expectations, values, and priorities.
Continuously improve project performance including capturing, evaluating, and sharing good practice
Operate independently and proactively.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelors Degree and 8 years of related experience or equivalent experience
Experience in Program/Project Management applying knowledge of PM methodologies, toolsets, and processes
Experience in Cross-functional Leadership to achieve program objectives using a team-based approach that demonstrates the value of each team member
Experience with Program Risk and Opportunity (R&O) management activities to include scope management, program/project plans, identification of risks, development of risk mitigation plans, and allocation of available resources
Knowledge of program Scope Management and Cost Estimating methodologies including estimate to complete/estimate at completion (ETC/EAC) processes
Ability to effectively manage program complexities and structuring activities in times of ambiguity
Ability to manage and influence internal and external stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly effective critical thinking skills
Customer focus and with good relationship building skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Graduate Degree
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar
Experience in Defense (DoD)/Government Contracting
Experience in Aerospace & Defense Engineering
Experience in Control Account Manager (CAM) and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
Fluency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint software programs
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 – $195700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
