Job Description:

The Speech Pathologist is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing and treating disorders of speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, and swallowing. In addition, this position is also responsible for consulting, educating and training patients and their caregivers.

Posting Specifics

Full time 40 hours

Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

ScopeAs an SLP you need to know how to:

  • Carry out speech therapy evaluations, program planning and treatments for hospital inpatients and outpatients.
  • Work closely with the Physical Medicine Director in coordinating speech therapy activities with other hospital disciplines and in developing a program for department expansion, community and physician marketing, budget needs, and department administration.
  • Work independently with limited contact with other Speech Language Pathologists.

.Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree in speech pathology, required
  • Current license to practice speech-language pathology in the State of practice, required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) and achieve clinical competencies by the required clinical internships, required
  • Strong Clinical Fellows with demonstrated competence may work under supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist while completing the fellowship year- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required by completion of the unit-specific orientation and before working independently.
  • At least six (6) months of experience in the acute care setting, including experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies, preferred

Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$34.06 – $52.55
