Zurich North America is seeking a dynamic Chief Data Officer (CDO) to lead our Data and Analytics team. This role reports to the Chief Operations Officer, and while our preference is for the role to be located at our Schaumburg Headquarters, we will consider other Zurich office locations.

The Chief Data Officer is responsible for all aspects of data management, including governance, data acquisition and integration, as well as the development of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities and products.

We are looking for a strategic leader with a vision for leveraging data to drive business success, who is forward-thinking, results-oriented, and focused on continuous improvement. This leader will partner with stakeholders at all levels to identify data needs and communicate data strategy and insights.

Responsibilities Include:

Develop and execute a comprehensive data and analytics strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.

Lead and mentor a high-performing data and analytics team.

Foster a data-driven culture across the organization.

Implement robust data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance. Develop policies and procedures for data management, usage, and security.

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)

Promote the use of data analytics to drive business insights and decision-making.

Ensure the organization has the necessary tools and capabilities for data analysis.

Report on the effectiveness and impact of data strategies, and continuously improve data processes and systems based on performance metrics.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree, and 15 or more years of experience in Data Science, Computer Science or Information SystemsAND

Experience in data management, data governance, data analytics, data modeling and data warehousing

Experience in a senior leadership role within a data-focused environment

Experience in developing and implementing data and analytics strategies

People management experience

Experience aligning strategic priorities, for revenue growth, customer retention, or market expansion

Preferred Qualifications:

Strategic thinker with a vision for leveraging data to foresee how it propels business success

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Insurance industry experience

MBA, MSc, or PhD
