Nucor Steel Kankakee, Inc is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Electrician.

Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

Developing the necessary knowledge and tools to successfully maintain and improve the equipment and processes of our division

Assisting with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mill equipment including, but not limited to: AC/DC drive units, PLCs, HMIs, and overhead cranes

Providing support to the maintenace and operations team

Developing and promoting safe work practicing for maintaining plant equipment

Applying technical knowledge to solve problems with plant equipment

Taking care of our customers by executing the divisions safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Completion of a diploma, a degree, or certification program in the electrical field, or two years of electrical maintenance experience including PLCs, VFDs, and controls

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous industrial electrical maintenance experience

2 or 4 year degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering
