– Maintenance: Performing maintenance and repairs on water systems, including water heaters, hot water tanks, and circulating pumps 
– Repair: Repairing broken pipes, fixtures, and appliances, such as dishwashers and water heaters 
– Cleaning: Cleaning drains, removing obstructions, and unclogging sewer lines
– Inspection: Inspecting and testing plumbing systems for leaks and problems 
– Troubleshooting: Identifying issues within a system and solving them
– Communication: Communicating with customers, dispatch, managers, parts, and installation teams 
– Estimating: Estimating costs and preparing bids 
– Following codes: Following all codes and regulations 
– Plumbers should have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, good problem-solving abilities, and excellent verbal communication skills. They should also be physically fit, as the job can involve extensive standing, crouching, and lifting heavy tools and materials
