Expected salary range of a RAD PRO TECHNICAL SPCLST is $90,000 to $100,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Expected salary range of a SR RAD PRO TECHNICAL SPCLST is $109,000 – $122,000 per year, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401k.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Senior Radiation Protection Technical Specialist at Peach Bottom Clean Energy Center. Is accountable for implementing the station technical programs such as Dosimetry, Instrumentation, respiratory programs, self assessments and CAP processes, procedure implementation, and other programmatic processes as assigned. Implements the long term planning processes of Exelon to insure programs are up to date from a regulatory and a technical perspective. Is accountable for performing the technical evaluations commensurate with program evaluations for internal and external exposure evaluations, isotopic mix trending, whole body count, emergency plan plume dispersions, and other calculations as required by the program. Implements continuous learning with regards to both technical and regulatory changes in Health Physics programs and shares with peers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Tracking and monitoring RP metrics for technical programs and generate corrective actions to insure programs are free of regulatory risk.

Work with fleet peers to benchmark and improve programs to industry best performance including cost, execution, and standardization.

Perform assessments of programs to identify problems and systematically correct. Performs technical calculations required for program fidelity. Has a detailed knowledge of the SDP process, 10CFR20 and other regulations utilized to implement programmatic requirements.

Coordinate procedure changes to programs with the site and fleet and write transition plans to insure appropriate communications and change management.

Implement corrective actions, self assessments, and benchmarking into departmental and self learning objectives and develops and performs training to be used to improve department performance.

Attend meetings representing Radiation Protection with regards to programmatic issues with NOS, regulators, and station CAP.

Perform in field observations of work and insure that appropriate standards of performance are met

RAD PRO TECHNICAL SPCLST MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. Degree in Health Physics (or related field) and 1 year related work experience in radiation protection or,

Associate Degree in Health Physics (or related science) and 3 years related experience in radiation, protection or

High school diploma with ANSI RP technician qualifications, or

at least 5 years of RP-related experience in a nuclear power facility Excellent computer skill. Capability to learn passport, excel, access, Canberra system software, and other software as needed to manage and implement programs Strong written and oral communication skills

SR RAD PRO TECHNICAL SPCLST MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree in health physics or related science with 4 years experience in radiation protection or

Associate Degree in health physics or related science and 6 years of experience in radiation protection or

High School Diploma with four years ANSI Rad Protection Technician qualifications, or at least eight years radiation protection related experience in a nuclear power facility.

Demonstrated communications ability both written and oral

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Successfully completed NRRPT or the CHP certifications
