Amergis

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs directpatient care under the direct supervision of a RN or LPN/LVN or other licensedmedical professional. The CNA/NA performs a variety of individualized patient careactivities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for thepersonal needs and comforts of patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains patient confidentiality of all clients

Performs duties within scope of practice, as assigned, in anaccurate and timely manner

Adheres to facility/client policy, procedures and protocolsat all times

Assists doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers withtreatments, procedures, and tests being performed in a variety of patient caresettings

Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriateinfection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautions

Notifies the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings orconditions

Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting theneeds of all facilities

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Prefer one year experience as a certified nursing assistantwithin the last three years

Graduate from certified nursing assistant program withsubsequent documentation as a certified nursing assistant per staterequirements with proof of verification as being an active certification and ingood-standing

Knowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of clericalfunctions

Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicable

Current CPR if applicable

TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

Computer proficiency required

Must be at least 18 years of age
