Job Description:
Field Technician IV
This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization position, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships. The incumbent will be working in varying temperatures of high heat in the summer and cold in the winter preforming the following tasks:
Modifies, moves, and installs a range of new equipment. Troubleshoots a variety of hardware and software problems and interconnectivity issues. Performs a variety of integrity testing and interviews customers to gather information about problems. Prepares and presents a variety of incident / performance reports to the customer and to the service delivery manager. Provides advice and a variety of onsite training for customer support personnel. May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals. May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
HOW A FIELD TECHNICIAN IV WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment. Travels to various sites to perform repairs and troubleshoot problems. Prepares incident/performance reports and trainings for customers.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $30.60 – $41.40. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
