We are looking for a talented Machinist – Level I -Apprenticeship (2nd Shift) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Champion Health and Safety : Model proactive health and safety behaviors. Identify, report, and participate in actions to improve health and safety, contributing to an injury-free workplace and fostering a culture of safety.

Ensure Controls Safety : Recognize hazards related to electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls in the manufacturing environment. Incorporate safe practices and procedures into your daily work plan to reduce injuries and create a safe machine environment.

Apply Manufacturing Knowledge: Demonstrate your knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in processes, equipment, and applications. This will help meet the function’s needs and contribute to continuous improvement.

Design Tools and Fixtures : Select appropriate work-piece-holding devices to effectively hold parts and products during manufacturing processes. This ensures their position meets functional requirements and supports quality production.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Minimal or no work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

This role is an apprenticeship requiring 8000 hours of on-the-job training as well as 36 credit hours of formal education.

The ability to use fine increments of measurement using the Metric or Imperial systems of measurements is desirable. Training will be provided as needed.

This role will be focused on the reconditioning and limited manufacturing of cutting tools used in the production of Diesel engine cylinder blocks and heads.

CNC (Computer Numerical Control) experience is a plus.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
