Position : Physical Education Instructor

Position Description:

The Physical Education instructor will manage the administration of PE courses: This is a remote class offered to Emory students to complete their Physical Education requirement and become acquainted with the health and wellness offerings at Emory. The instructor will meet virtually with all students at least twice per semester (at the start and end) as well as hold open office hours to address students’ questions and concerns.

Position Responsibilities:

· Provide instruction and administration for PE-125 course in the physical education curriculum

· Evaluate and track students’ weekly physical activity submissions

· Respond to student messages and communicate regularly regarding course progress and opportunities for credit

· Keep student grades updated in Canvas Learning Management System

· Maintain knowledge of Emory University’s health and wellness offerings

· Hold regular weekly open office hours to address student questions

· Attend departmental meetings as necessary

· Cultivate an environment that values inclusiveness and diversity

· Promote student development and learning

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field

· Basic computer skills and competent in the Microsoft office package

Preferred Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in a related field

· At least one (1) year of experience in related administration and teaching, preferably in a university setting
