Position Summary

The Program Coordinator for the UHSA Connects Initiative will be responsible for managing and facilitating all aspects of the Undergraduate Health Sciences Academy ( UHSA ) Connects: The Community Broadband Initiative. This initiative aims to extend broadband internet connectivity to minority communities and expand the health careers pipeline for learners in grades K-8 and college. The Program Coordinator, funded by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s ( NTIA ) Connecting Minority Communities Pilot Program, will oversee the project’s implementation, curriculum development, and resource management.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Associate’s degree required

Experience:

1-2 years of experience in project management or a related role.

Working knowledge of technology tools such as laptops, desktops, tablets, hotspots, docking stations, and WiFi.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management, forms, and survey design software.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

BA/BS in Project Management, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Education/Education Technology, or a similar field is desirable.

Experience:

Familiarity with virtual communication, website management, and social media platforms.

Knowledge of project implementation, data collection, and analysis methods.

Experience working in an academic and/or research environment, preferably with K-12 or higher education institutions.

Experience working with diverse learners.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate project activities effectively.

Ability to interpret and apply institutional policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.

Experience with technology implementation and community engagement.

Experience with curriculum development and project evaluation.

Experience in budget management.

2 years of formal or informal classroom experience with K-8 learners.

Professional experience in an educational setting, preferably in STEAM -based subject matters.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with diverse personalities.

Ability and eagerness to work both independently and in a diverse team environment.

Strong problem-solving, time management, and multitasking abilities

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

Plan, coordinate, and administer all activities within the UHSA Connects Initiative, ensuring adherence to project objectives and grant requirements.

Manage equipment procurement, technology support, and subscription contract negotiations within the allocated budget.

Travel to Atlanta Unbound Academy for programming, events, technology distribution, technology implementation, and other necessary duties.

Track inventory of equipment and ensure its proper maintenance and usage.

Facilitate logistics for the student mentorship program between Undergraduate Health Sciences Academy students.

Lead engagement outreach efforts to community members and UHSA students for digital literacy trainings.

Collaborate with key staff, including the Program Manager, to develop, initiate, and implement the curriculum, ensuring its alignment with project goals.

Oversee the project budget and effectively manage all allocated resources.

Recruit students and mentors for the UHSA Connects Initiative and work closely with teachers and students from Atlanta Unbound Academy to ensure proper project management.

Order necessary supplies and manage the development of the project website and distribution of marketing materials.

Immunization Requirements

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
