Business Analyst (Fair Lending Compliance)

Overview
Navy Federals Fair Lending Analytics Program is a second line of defense risk program within the Compliance & Public Policy division and is responsible for providing independent and effective challenge to models, business practices, and policies developed by business units across the organization to ensure compliance with fair lending laws. This is achieved via statistical analysis to identify and evaluate potential fair lending risk across the business.
The Business Analyst role will conduct analyses and gather, organize and review data and documentation to support general business operations and planning activities and ensure processes are integrated and effective across the department. Growing an understanding of business needs and objectives. Solve a range of mostly straightforward problems with some increased scope and complexity. Developing professional with basic skill set and proficiency with procedures and analysis techniques.
Responsibilities
Assess requirements for internal business processes, ensuring integration across teams and business units and compatibility with organizational strategic goals
Document business processes and workflows; identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
Analyze and evaluate business data to identify solutions to basic business problems; use quantitative analysis methodology to perform data and/or process measurement analysis
Analyze processes and workflows to improve and/or automate business performance
Create reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems to improve and/or automate business performance
Collaborate with team members and participate in team projects and initiatives
Qualifications
1-5 years of experience in business and operational strategy, planning and analysis
Basic understanding of business and operating environment
Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Effective problem resolution skills including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues
Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills
Effective project management skill to lead projects and/or initiatives of small to medium scope to include working effectively with diverse internal and external contacts
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field
Desired Qualification(s)
Masters Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field
Familiarity with federal Fair Lending regulations (e.g. ECOA, FHA)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM
