Your Specific Responsibilities:
The Fiscal Assistant I position is based at the Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County and reports directly to the Finance & Accounting Director I. The Fiscal Assistant I will work with the Fiscal team and primarily be responsible to work on Accounts Receivable, Cash Distribution, Billing, and Bank Deposits. This position is anticipated to work 40 hours per week at a bi-weekly rate of $1,500.00.

Knowledge of Statutes, Rules and Regulations that pertain to the programs
Knowledge of recordkeeping procedures
Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
Knowledge of basic filing practices.
Ability to maintain fiscal records.
Ability to post, balance and reconcile fiscal records.
Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
Ability to organize and file materials.
Ability to review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness.
Ability to compile fiscal data.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program.
Ability to use a computer, MS Word, Excel, One Drive, Outlook, & Teams.
Ability to work flexible hours, if needed
Qualifications:
Minimum:
Valid Florida drivers license or Florida identification card is required.
Reliable transportation is required.
Working knowledge of MS Excel is required.
Preferred:
An associate degree or higher in business-related field.
Previous experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping or Budget.
Experience working for a State of Florida agency in a business role .
Experience in MFMP AOD, FIRS, and/or FLAIR systems preferred.
Experience in HMS or other electronic health record (EHR) system.
