Job Summary
The History program in the School of Humanities invites qualified applicants for a full-time, 9-month, teaching-track Assistant Teaching Professor in History who will coordinate our undergraduate program in Social Studies Education.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate courses for the History (Social Studies Education) BA program
Supervise student teacher field experiences
Advise undergraduate students in Social Studies Education
Participate in program assessment and prepare reports for external accrediting bodies
Fulfill service obligations appropriate to a faculty member
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
A Masters degree in history or a related field by time of appointment and three years of teaching experience at the middle or high school level
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software
Preferred Qualifications
A record of excellence in teaching and training in pedagogy and evidence of successful teaching experience in courses related to Social Studies education
