Senior Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic

This is a job for a Senior Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic with a company located in the Columbus, MS area.

Job Summary: Youll be responsible for set up, repair, service, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and installation of replacement parts on Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment. While youll work independently for the most part, there are also service mentors who will provide guidance as needed.

Responsibilities: Interpret and analyze mechanical, hydraulic, and electric schematics and wiring diagrams. Provide high quality repair service on equipment engines. Serve customers needs in a positive, safe, and timely manner.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Diesel engine, construction equipment, and/or truck engine training through an accredited technical school OR relevant military experience preferred. 5 years of previous hands-on relevant experience with CAT equipment or similar industrial equipment and/or industrial engines. 5 years of experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting diesel-powered construction equipment or truck engines. Can work five-day work schedules and availability to work overtime or weekend hours as required. Owns a complete set of basic mechanical hand tools (drives, sockets, and wrenches). Possess and maintain a current, valid state drivers license.
