Summary About the Position: Position provides technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs such as strength management, unit readiness, personnel readiness, Position is located at Human Resources Command (HRC), Officer Personnel Management Directorate (OPMD, at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Responsibilities Provide specialized data query and analysis for decision making support. Monitor all Soldier Assignment Actions, HS Stabs, Retirements, FSTEs, COTS, Deletions, Deferments, reclassification actions, EACs, Unit Personnel Distribution Roster, Army Strategic Readiness Update (ASRU), and various other assignment. Provide guidance, interpretations, training and/or briefings on current and proposed worldwide worldwide distribution policies for officer personnel. Review and maintain basic understanding of the overall manning process as it relates to the fill and manning of deploying units, resetting units and Officer Professional Development. Provide technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military HR programs. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying military personnel principles, concepts, legal requirements, and methodology to advise on or resolve moderately complex issues, make informed judgments, and provide advisory services. Using automated system(s) supporting Officer Personnel Assignments and Information, and ability to retrieve data for studies, subjects and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this position at the GS-11 grade Level you must possess: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
