SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing the proper procedures, techniques and operations of the siding and accessory extrusion lines. The Extrusion Tech will proficiently operate extruder machine and all downstream equipment in a safe manner necessary to manufacture a high-quality vinyl siding product. This position is located at the Franklin, OH Siding Solutions plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are followed
Read, comprehend and execute processes according to the Standard Work Instructions necessary to properly operate the equipment and manufacture the product.
Operate, understand, and troubleshoot ALL production related equipment in any current production process – including but not limited to extruders, grinders, color feeders, slitters, slit/heat/form/nail tables, MRF, etc.
Must enter and maintain all required paperwork and data entry necessary in the operation including daily production reports, scrap reports, etc.
Able to distinguish the colors visually and/or with appropriate tool
Perform required quality control checks and inspections to assure the product being manufactured is meeting required specifications to include using micrometers, calipers, microscope, impact tester and any other equipment necessary to meet and assure compliance.
Focus on continuous improvement, through the elimination of waste, improvement in product quality and process efficiency.
Run tests/trials on production lines and document the findings clearly and concisely to the engineering/quality departments.
Effectively communicate with all team members and all levels of management any problems, trends, or improvements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must lift, carry and/or move up to 50 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a fast paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times and steel toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures in the building, although maintained, can be effected by outside weather conditions.
