Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Technician for our 2nd/3rd shift operations. Shifts are from 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am. You will work on machines that create drive shafts for powertrain components, including balancers, friction welders, snap ring presses, straighteners, CNC lathes, electromagnetic welders, and CNC rolling machines. The role is focused on addressing mechanical issues in a union facility, requiring prompt response to downed machines and troubleshooting various mechanical problems such as broken hydraulics or motor replacements. Collaboration with electricians may be necessary for large issues. Proficiency in MIG/Stick welding and pipe threading is required. A knowledge test on proportional valves will be administered during the interview process.

This is a fully on-site position in BELLEVILLE, Michigan.

Work Environment

This union facility is well-lit and clean. During summer, temperatures inside the plant can be about 10 degrees above the outside temperature. The facility spans nearly 500,000 square feet, requiring employees to walk long distances or use bikes. Maintenance work is strictly mechanical. The team size is large, and the position involves consistent overtime, working 7 days a week.
