CNC Lathe Operator

The CNC Lathe Setup/Operator position will be responsible for the setup and operation of CNC machines using existing programs and paperwork according to the production schedule in order to meet customer requirements.

 Primary responsibilities will include: 

– Set-up and operate Mazak, Okuma and Hardinge lathes.
– Properly install and remove tooling per setup sheet.
– Install and remove work holding, as needed.
– Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speeds, feed, coolant flow, and depth of cut.
– Audit first piece samples (when required).
– Perform visual and measurement checks to maintain quality output of parts.
– Make program adjustments or offsets to ensure processes are complete and quality of parts are met, and replace inserts or other tools as needed.
– Perform daily routine maintenance of CNC machine.
– Adhere to company quality policies and procedures in accordance with our ISO 9001 documented plan.

Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:

– High School Diploma or GED Required
– 5 years of CNC mill or lathe experience, including setup preferred
– Proficiency in the use of measuring tools; micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, optical comparator, thread gauges, etc.
– Proficient with Mazatrol, Fanuc or Okuma OSP control packages.
– Familiar with cutting various stainless steel and plastic materials.
– Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, understand GD & T.
– Basic math skills.
– Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word.
– Strong analytical skills.
