### Position Summary
Planning and Execution of Career Programming and Instruction
– Assist the Director in developing, conducting, and evaluating field-relevant events featuring alumni and guest artists, including executing event logistics, designing learning goals, moderating panels, preparing learning activities, and assessing event outcomes.
– Co-present career-related content in courses, studio classes, ensembles, and student organization meetings as a guest and primary instructor, alongside the Director.
– Provide planning, communication, logistics, and organizational support for artist residencies, performance series, and other events that combine artistic and educational activities.
– Serve as the music liaison to the Career Services Network, attending network meetings, planning workshops for all majors, and supporting all-major career fairs and other career-related events as needed.
Represent College of Music student interests in Career Service Network initiatives.
Employer Development and Experiential Learning Program Leadership
– Develop and maintain relationships with employers, organizations, and artists to support the hiring of Spartan talent.
– Manage College of Music internship programs, developing relationships with partner sites and overseeing student learning.
– Assist the Director in creating and managing experiential learning initiatives on- and off-campus, including study away programs and other strategic initiatives.
– Manage the Classical Gigline service, responding to new requests and providing student hiring and training.
– Collaborate with other MSU departments and offices on performance and experiential learning opportunities for music students when applicable.
Advising
– Advise students on career exploration, professional preparation, entrepreneurship, and other career-related topics.
Marketing and Communications
– Develop outreach strategies and channels of communication to ensure robust participation in career development events across degree programs.
– Set social media strategy to respond to current trends and developments in student engagement.
– Supervise interns in executing a marketing strategy to reach music students

Masters -Arts or equivalent degree

### Minimum Requirements
– Masters degree in the arts or equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Knowledge of current trends in the classical, jazz, or popular music industry and arts entrepreneurship.
– Strong presentation and written communication skills.
– Experience planning and executing events.
– Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
– Possess and maintain a current valid drivers license.
### Desired Qualifications
– Experience working as a self-employed professional in the performing arts.
– Experience with current social media marketing strategies.
– Knowledge of new arts-related business models, research, and technology.
– Graduate degree in music or coursework in music entrepreneurship strongly preferred.
