The Scrum Master will be responsible for the coordination and completion of strategic projects and integrations across various functional areas within Payer Services and Delivery team, reporting into the Sr. Director, Technology Enablement. This work focuses on initiatives with both Optum and external client impact. This position provides subject matter expertise in areas including project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas based on established project management techniques. This role will involve presentation to management on project updates, project cycle, and expected results. Ensures projects are completed on time and in scope. May manage vendor and service providers to define project scope and performance expectations.

This is a challenging role that relies on your ability to effectively solve complex problems, lead project teams and build relationships with stakeholders across departments. Projects will encompass operational excellence and process improvement within cross-functional areas. Your ability to use various methodologies and tools to collaborate in a cross-matrix environment will drive long term success keeping the team on track within the project scope and timeline.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work closely with multiple development teams to refine the backlog, optimize estimation, and improve work decomposition

Establish metrics baseline and have used metrics to optimize execution.

Configure and manage workflows, establish metrics and define critical business process

Use quality assurance metrics to better understand how to guide quality practices to build quality into ongoing processes

Leverage solid presentation and communication skills to communicate to all levels of organization

Facilitates planning sessions that defines product roadmap

Host system capability demos

Drive vision and coordination of roadmaps, backlogs, including objective and communicate them for transparency

Establish processes to connect what was delivered and value derived

Facilitate critical path delivery conversations

Facilitate cross products and application dependency planning

Facilitate retrospective reviews

Host Problem-solving workshop address major impediments, focus on root cause

Discuss problems or opportunities with feature development

Track and report KPIs such as team velocity, sprint burndown, etc.

Partner with business, IT and Operations to review status, issues, escalations, roadmap and future planning

Required Qualifications:

10 years of technical experience

7 years of experience leading and running agile/scrum ceremonies and technology project management

Experience in a Payer organization

Demonstrable experience using Rally

Experience working with Product Owner to define and prioritize product features

Information Security experience

Demonstrable experience with PMP structure and theories

Proven successful track record projecting financial spend and reconciling actual spend for multiple programs

Proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP certification

Knowledge of cloud technologies: Microsoft Azure

Care management experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
