Medical Assistant/LPN Urgent Care

Purpose of Job This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care related activities including: assisting the providers. This is a casual position. May also perform lab functions as required. Job Functions When performing nursing support functions Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification/licensure Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary Assists with patient education Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing Graduate of clinical laboratory program and/or ability to display and complete job competencies Current LPN Licensure or Medical Assistant (MA) or Registered Assistant (RMA) (LPNs will have 1 year to become certified in order to maintain employment) Current CPR certification Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities Ability to multi-task Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications Ability to work autonomously and as a team Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above Preferred Qualifications EMR experience Link to Employee Health Physical Demands Ridgeview Medical Center will not discriminate against or harass any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, citizenship, national origin, age, disability, military service, veteran status, genetic information, union membership, creed, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, status with regards to public assistance, membership in a local human rights commission, or any other category that may be protected by law.
