The Genetics Counseling team at our University of MN Medical Center is looking for an experienced Department Business Coordinator to join our team. This is a temporary position that will assist primarily with insurance verifications and help navigate prior authorizations for our patients. This job is perfect for someone with prior insurance experience!
Position Details:
FTE : 1.0 (80 hours per pay period)
Shift : day shift (8a-430p)
Weekend Requirement : none
Location: Hybrid- onsite for the duration of training then remote with a 1 day per week onsite expectation

Responsibilities Job Description
Job Summary:
As a member of the Shared Clinical Services team, the Department Business Coordinator uses strong customer service, organization, project management and Microsoft office skills and knowledge to anticipate business needs and provide day-to-day operational support in assigned areas. This may include project coordination, data collection and reporting, administrative support, and budget management.
This position may also be involved in meeting coordination and facilitation as assigned.
Job Expectations:
Using exceptional collaboration, presentation, communication, and organizational skills:
Create and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, acting as a liaison between operational units to accomplish organizational goals and objectives
Use available technology to provide day-to-day operational support to assigned area
Manage data collection, budgeting, and recordkeeping to meet compliance, regulatory or operational needs
Assure stakeholders are kept informed and are included in the preparation for any planned changes in services, programs, processes, and systems as assigned.
·Assist in managing projects through entire life cycle: Initiation, Planning, Execution and Closure
Qualifications
Required
Education
Bachelors’ degree in business, healthcare, pharmacy or other related subject or the equivalent of a combination of 6 years education and/or experience.
Experience
Two years administrative or office management experience using available Microsoft Office to provide day-to-day administrative support
Preferred
Experience
Three years’ experience managing multiple projects and priorities including coordinating day-to-day business operations.
