BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:
– The Quality Assurance Manager manages and coordinates the quality of pipe produced at a manufacturing plant.
– The Quality Assurance Manager reports to the Plant Manager at the manufacturing facility as well as the Corporate Quality Director. Reporting responsibilities are split per local and corporate requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
– Training and supervising quality control technicians who report to you
– Ensure all training is documented as appropriate
– Overseeing product compliance with the WL Plastics Quality Program as defined in the Quality Program Manual (QPM)
– Conducting tests on products and product samples in the lab or in the facility to determine product compliance with the QPM, industry standards and customer specifications
– Evaluating test results and determining product conformance or non-conformance
– Communicating product quality determinations with plant management
– Maintaining records of quality tests, production and product conformance
– Verifying production quantities
– Preparing and forwarding quality certifications
– Maintaining laboratory and quality equipment certifications
– Providing leadership in the facility
– Performing other duties assigned by the Plant Manager
– Flexible hours and some weekend work will be required
– Accountable for understanding and putting into practice the SHE (Safety Health Environment) Principles. Additionally, the Quality Manager has a responsibility to cascade the understanding of the principles through the location and their work group.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
– Preferred candidates will have at least two years post-High School technical school or college education in an industrial, technical, math, science or management course of study, or equivalent, relevant experience; Associates degree preferred; computer skills a plus.
– Must be a U.S. citizen or a non-U.S. citizen having legal status to reside and work in the U.S. for reasons other than practical training (for U.S. locations only).
– Proven leadership, persuasive, initiative, adaptability, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.
– Must be able to work safely in a production environment; must be physically capable of performing job related tasks and job duties. Requires lifting of 50 lbs.
– Must have excellent communication skills.
– Good organizational skills-ability to determine priorities, manage time properly, and multi-task.
– Adherence to Quality Policy and ISO 9001 Procedural requirements.
– Basiccomputerskills(MSWindows,MSExcel,MSWord,Outlook)
– Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
