SUMMARY:

The Global Optimization team is seeking a motivated, dynamic and experienced mid-career professional to join the Regional Optimization Team, helping drive Marathon Petroleum Corporation’s Value Chain Optimization transformation. As part of our Regional Optimization team, you will play a key role in shaping and implementing processes and solutions that will modernize how we plan, execute, and optimize our business, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of industry benchmark and effective transformation and delivery management.

All MPC Locations will be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive Value Chain Optimization: Help design and implement processes that support our vision for Value Chain Optimization (VCO). Youll work to align our business needs with cutting-edge technology, ensuring that our tools and systems help us achieve peak performance.

Collaborate for Success: Work closely with cross-functional leaders and experts to refine and update plans that will transform our operations. Together, you’ll create and refine the roadmap for technical solutions, ensuring we prioritize the right initiatives to fuel our ongoing transformation.

Lead the Transformation: Be a key player in deploying innovative solutions that will bring our value chain optimization goals to life. You’ll ensure everything runs smoothly across processes, models, and data, making sure it all aligns with our broader goals.

Facilitate Growth: Act as a bridge between the operating business and other key teams, ensuring that processes are tested, launched, and seamlessly integrated into our day-to-day operations. Your coordination across IT, commercial, and refining teams will ensure we stay consistent and agile.

Monitor and Enhance: Track how well new processes are being adopted and provide recommendations to enhance our transformation efforts. Your insights will help us continue evolving and improving as we pursue our ambitious value chain optimization goals.

Champion a Culture of Excellence: Promote a strong culture of safety, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices in everything we do. You’ll help us build a future-ready operation while fostering collaboration and innovation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)

A minimum of 7 years of refining experience, 10 years preferred. Experience in refining economics/planning/operations in the US Midwest is preferred.

Basic PIMS (linear modeling) experience.

SafeAgile and Program Management experience is preferred.
