## Distinguishing Features of Work
The IT Intern will perform Tier 1 support to internal departments at the
City of Wichita. This person will be responsible for end user support
including incoming calls, and responding to service desk tickets. Duties
will include windows support, Microsoft O365 support, and Tier 1 support
for many applications used by City personnel. Duties include PC, Laptop,
Tablet, and printer setup and maintenance and mobile device
administration.
This is advanced technical work performed in the office or field. Work
is directed and reviewed by both a Senior Analyst and a professional
supervisor.
This is a part-time position that consist of 25 hours a week. Workdays &
hours – Monday- Friday: 8:00am-12:00pm

## Requirements of Work
– Level of knowledge appropriate to the work being assigned.
– Ability to use a computer to access, interpret and record
information
– Ability to lean and reach as needed to read and interpret plans and
specifications from a print that may be as large as 36 by 48 inches
with information printed as small as 20 characters per inch
– May require ability to research, analyze, summarize and report
findings
– May require ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
– May require ability to tolerate airborne nuisances associated with
open grounds, construction and windy conditions
– May require ability to cover uneven terrain, go up and down stairs,
and otherwise maneuver around construction sites
– Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with
associates, representatives of other organizations, and/or the
public
– Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in
writing
– Ability to safely perform the physical requirements for the specific
internship assignment
– May require ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas Drivers
License.

## Required Experience and Training
Required Experience and Training
– High School Diploma/GED.
– Must have a valid Kansas Drivers License.
– Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the
need of a sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Training
– Knowledge of standard PC component configurations and ability to
access, interpret and record information using standard Microsoft
Office Applications.
– 6 months of experience in repair and maintenance of standard PC
hardware.
– 6 months of experience with help desk support or customer service.
Offers of employment are contingent upon passing a fingerprint,
