This is your chance to make a difference in the lives of our student by
connecting them with applied learning experiences. In this position, you
will explore career options, developing employment skills, promoting
job-searching strategies, professional coaching with current and
prospective students. Work in conjunction with our other Career Coaches
to support different areas around the university. Reveal partnerships to
students & how those can provide them with real world experience in
their chosen field. Connect with employers maintaining relationships &
continuing to enhance how we can assist them in their hiring needs as
well as programs we have established that are mutually beneficial. Spend
most of your time involved with students but also behind the scenes
involvement with follow up, programs & record keeping. Although you
might not always be dealing with students, we need someone who is able
to build rapport quickly & great with creating lasting relationship
which are professionally beneficial to all. We want someone full of
fresh ideas, how we can continue to grow, assist, build & be great in
helping our community as well as students at WSU!

Job Summary
Coordinates and delivers career development programming, resource
materials, and/or career coaching to students, alumni and/or community
members. Provides professional development opportunities and maintains
participant relationships to enable successful career planning.
Essential Functions
Educates or advises program participants individually, or in groups
through various mediums to enable career exploration and professional
development. Administers and interprets career inventory assessments,
materials development, and career decisions. Provides expertise in one
(1) or more areas including, but not limited to, resume development and
interviewing skills, career readiness and decision-making, career coach
referrals, and/or job search techniques. Responds to questions and
provides information regarding student services, policies, procedures,
and/or employment preparation. Presents professional development
workshops as well as coordinates and participates in career outreach
such as job fairs. May lead staff as assigned. Provides input to
leadership regarding the development of coaching and/or co-curricular
programming across the University.

Talent sourcing for local employers & on campus employment.
Career coaching including all aspects related including but not limited
to resume writing, job search strategies, interviewing tips & etc.
Required Education and Experience:
– Bachelors degree in a related field
– One (1) year of experience in related field
Required License/Certifications/Training:
Credentials in one (1) of the following: any career-related assessment
(Strong Interest Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Clifton
Strengths, etc.) or from a career-related professional association
(NCDA, NRWA, NACE, etc.), or complete one (1) career assessment
certification or credential from a career-related professional
association within 90 days of hire date.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
– Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
– Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with diverse groups of people including students, faculty and staff.
– High level of service orientation with outstanding customer service
skills and attitude; responsive to ustomer needs.
– Ability to organize information/tasks in an efficient manner, meet
established deadlines, and be adaptable in a changing work
environment.
– Ability to research industry best practices and stay updated on
current labor market trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
– HR/Talent management.
– Career coaching methods, trends or related resources
– Experience in or working in conjunctions with higher education &/or
students
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a
computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone,
printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others
and accurately exchange information.

Pay:Range beginning $45,803/yr, adjusted based on qualifications
