Overview / Job Summary:
The Adjunct Faculty Instructor provides subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities include teaching courses, adhering to lesson plans,
meeting course objectives, beginning and ending courses on time as
scheduled and adhering to academic faculty ethical and professional
behaviors.
Your day-to-dayresponsibilitieswill vary, but are not limited to:
– Creates and/or uploads an appropriate course syllabus for each
course to the Learning Management System.
– Keeps students informed and updated concerning course content,
requirements, evaluation procedures and attendance requirements.
– Maintains industry credentials as appropriate to the teaching area.
– Develops, revises, and/or recommends curriculum changes which meet
the objectives of the course/program and improve student learning.
– Maintains accurate and complete scholastic records, including but
not limited to course messaging in the LMS, grades, census rosters
and attendance records.
The instructors role encompasses various responsibilities, including
assessing student progress in achieving course outcomes, and overseeing
classroom activities to ensure a safe learning environment. Furthermore,
the instructor is responsible for aligning programs and classes with WSU
Tech Course Standards, using effective teaching methods, and adhering to
approved course syllabi.
Education:
– Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or related field, required.
Masters Degree in related field or degree in any field with 18
credit hours in teaching discipline,preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Must have previous experience in law enforcement, demonstrating
strong knowledge of public safety procedures, legal compliance, and
investigative techniques,required.
– Previous teaching or training experience in adult
educationpreferred.
Additional Requirements:
– Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills
must be able to work with students, technical and administrative
personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
– Detail oriented with strong organizational skills where you can work
under pressure to meet deadlines.
– Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
– Ability to quickly learn & use personal computer and various
software programs utilized daily in a teaching environment, strong
Microsoft Office skills.
– Comfortable with course delivery method being hybrid as needed.
