Overview

Responsible for the Design and development of automotive alignment
products. Including Quality improvements (Rapid Continuous Improvements)
to existing products.

Responsibilities

– Provide mechanical design and development of new products or product
enhancements for the automotive equipment industry. Must be able to
work in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines and
nationalities.
– Prepare thorough and accurate documentation for release to
manufacturing and for internal product design records. Maintain an
engineering notebook to document work activity in support of
companys patent goals.
– Test and validate alignment products to assure good product
performance and high standard of quality.
– Work with manufacturing and service personnel to resolve problems
and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products.
– Work with manufacturing engineering on Rapid Continuous Improvement
initiatives to reduce product cost and/or improve performance of
designs.
– Develop a deep understanding of the companys products and their
applications.

Qualifications

– BSME or BSMET degree. Preference with minimum 2 years design
experience.
– Up to date knowledge in mechanical design. Including the design of
plastic molded parts, metal castings, sheet metal, and assembly
techniques.
– Capable of performing engineering analysis and other related
calculations to support mechanical designs.
– Basic understanding of complementary technical disciplines.
– Able to work with other team members and with minimal supervision.
– Must possess excellent communication skills.
– Must possess good time management and organizational skills.
– Must possess good problem solving and analytical skills.
– Must be able to demonstrate initiative.
– Must be proficient in the use of the computer for design and
testing. CREO solid modeling or similar 3D package.
