The pay rate for this role is $23.23 per hour, as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Your role as a Mechanic for the Public Works Department
As a full-time Mechanic at Ferguson Township, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective mechanical maintenance of our municipal equipment. Your responsibilities will include testing vehicles for proper and safe operation; performing essential automotive repair tasks such as changing oil, belts, and spark plugs; and repairing various Township mechanical equipment. You will also be tasked with tracking vehicle repair work through detailed work orders and maintenance records, allowing for smooth operations and an organized workflow.

This hands-on position not only offers the chance to hone your diagnostic skills but also promotes a customer service focus, contributing directly to the safety and integrity of our communitys transportation resources.

Requirements for this position
To be successful as a Mechanic with Ferguson Township, you will need a solid foundation of skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a PA State Inspection License (Class 7), and a minimum PA CDL License (Class B). Your background should include at least four years of experience in auto and truck repair, demonstrating robust diagnostic skills, and a deep understanding of automotive systems. Familiarity with the hazards of work and necessary safety precautions is essential to maintaining a safe environment.

While not mandatory, possessing an Associates Degree or two years of trade or technical school in Auto Mechanics will enhance your qualifications.
