THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Corrections Utility Plant Operator. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will supervise inmates in standard practices of boiler plant maintenance, operation, and repair. You will ensure adherence to policies, processes, and procedures, as well as analyze problems and provide solutions. This role requires effective communication skills to build inmate relationships while maintaining a safe and secure work environment. In addition, you will complete paperwork and conduct daily inventory.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week.
Your work schedule will include rotating shifts and days off. Work hours are 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM), 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM), and 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:00 AM).
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
