DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Installation Police Officer, your role at the Fort Indiantown Gap installation is crucial to the safety and security of the federal and state-owned buildings and grounds. Your responsibilities include making arrests and ensuring the safety of the community. In addition, you will be the first responder to vehicle accidents and other emergency situations, playing a critical role in protecting the lives of those you serve. Your dedication and vigilance will have a significant impact on the overall well-being of the community.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment (12-hour work day/40-hour work week)
You will work rotating shifts with rotating days off. Shifts are 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
Successful completion of the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission Certified Basic Police Academy (Act 120) training.
Special Requirement:
You must have possession of a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C drivers license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
You must maintain an Automated Installation Entry (AIE) card once it is issued.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
You must pass a background investigation.
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
In accordance with the seniority provisions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, this position was previously posted for seniority candidates. Since there were no seniority candidates, it is now open to all applicants.
