Drafter

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage 3D models: Create and maintain detailed BIM models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems using Revit and other BIM software.

Collaborate with project teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure models are accurate and meet project requirements.

Generate detailed drawings: Produce detailed MEP drawings and plans from BIM models to support construction and design processes.

Conduct clash detection: Identify and resolve conflicts within the BIM models to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with other building components.

Maintain project documentation: Keep all project documentation up-to-date to reflect the current status and ensure compliance with project requirements.

Provide technical support: Assist in troubleshooting and providing technical support related to BIM software and MEP design.

Typical Duties:

Creating and revising drawings: Use Revit and other 3D modeling tools to create and revise MEP drawings and documentation.

Participating in meetings: Collaborate with the project team to discuss and resolve matters related to model accuracy and project requirements.

Creating visualizations: Develop visualizations of MEP systems for client approvals and regulatory bodies.

Working with various MEP systems: Design and model projects involving different types of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and codes.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Education: An associate’s degree or technical degree in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), or a related discipline.

Proficiency in BIM software: Strong skills in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.

Understanding of MEP systems: Knowledge of MEP codes, drafting techniques, and construction processes.

This role is essential for ensuring that MEP projects are planned, designed, and executed efficiently, leveraging the power of digital modeling to streamline processes and enhance collaboration.
