Global Commodity Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Global Commodity Manager is responsible for the
following duties: Negotiate commercial agreements or spot purchases
required to support business partners and manufacturing sites. Ensure
that negotiated agreements are implemented, and terms and conditions are
being met. Pursue and create competitive purchase environment by
continuously seeking alternate supply scenarios; redesign the movement
or procurement of commodities as needed to maximize value and minimize
costs. Develop and implement commercial agreements and associated work
processes within area of responsibility; review proposals, develop
performance specifications, and serve as liaison between network of
commodity suppliers and the Springs Window Fashions family of companies.
Resolve process or supplier related issues to support manufacturing
operations. Maintain knowledge of suppliers and relevant market
developments including mergers and acquisitions, financial status, and
changes in key personnel to identify opportunities to improve logistical
aspects of manufacturing processes and supplier relationships. Develop
and execute logistics strategy for assigned commodities; stay informed
of logistics technology advances and apply appropriate technology to
continuously improve logistics processes. Provide analytical support in
all commercial negotiations and supplier selections within assigned
commodities. Create and support a pipeline of cost savings projects for
sustainable year over year productivity. Collaborate with
cross-functional teams to meet manufacturing requirements, take
advantage of sales opportunities, and minimize any negative impacts of
commodity shortage on business operations. Job requires 15%
international and domestic travel. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical
Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field and 4 years of
sourcing or procurement experience. The following specific skills are
also required: – 4 years of experience utilizing company ERP systems
such as SAP or Oracle for order placing, pricing updates, and adding new
suppliers, and with supplier collaboration tools. – 3 years of
experience developing and executing a commodity strategy including price
negotiations, value analysis (VA/VE), or supplier continuous improvement
projects. – 3 years of experience leading negotiations and supplier
selection. – 3 years of experience conducting supplier commodity reviews
and monitoring and mitigating supplier capacity and risk. – 2 years of
experience developing sourcing strategies for a company with an annual
