Incident Communications Director

About this role:
Leading a small team, this individual will spearhead the company communications response to enterprise-wide incidents and issues. This role is responsible for setting communications strategy working with executive leadership, and creating communications deliverables for customers, employees, media and other critical stakeholders. Additionally, this individual will work on high-priority issues management initiatives with customer-facing lines of business. This position can sit in Charlotte, NC ; New York, NY or St. Louis, MO and is required to be in the office 3 days a week. The Wells Fargo job profile is Communications Director .
In this role, you will:
Serve as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert for enterprise-wide incident communications
Develop communications strategy, messaging and deliverables for enterprise-wide incidents and issues
Write and edit a variety of time-sensitive communications including banners, emails, and customer letters
During incidents, this role will actively participate in working group calls as incidents are assessed and presented to leadership and stakeholders with recommended company response
Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of our response plan following each incident
Own guidelines, tools, and templates for customer-facing communications
Maintain playbook with structured messaging and direction for enterprise-wide incidents; playbook to be regularly reviewed and audited
Identify process improvement opportunities for effective incident communications
Partner with communicators to ensure alignment of communications strategies and messaging
Lead and coach a small team of geographically dispersed professionals
Required Qualifications:
8 years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4 years of management experience
Desired Qualifications:
Experience developing crisis and/or incident communications strategies and plans
Experience counseling executives on high profile issues and/or crisis management
Experience writing and editing a variety of customer facing communications
Experience presenting information in a manner that persuades, and influences decision makers
Experience working on enterprise-wide programs/projects under regulatory oversight
Experience leading, high-performing geographically dispersed teams

401 South Tryon Street – Charlotte, NC ($120,400 to $250,000)
150 East 42nd Street – New York, NY ($138,500 to $287,600)
114 North Beaumont Street – St. Louis, MO ($120,400 to $250,000)
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$120,400.00 – $287,600.00
