facilitate the operations of a function(s), program(s), and/or
department(s).

Job Duties

The Library Scholarly Information Specialist will provide population,
processing of items, and maintenance of SOAR, the Wichita State
institutional repository. The employee will also assist with other
library digital platforms, currently OJS (Open Journals System) as
directed by supervisor. The position will be responsible for a variety
of operations and projects and may supervise student assistants as
needed. The position will be part of the Institutional Repository and
Digitization team of the University Libraries Technical Services unit.

Required Education and Experience:

– High school diploma or equivalent
– Two (2) years of experience in general office, clerical,
administrative support or related field

Required License/Certifications/Training:

None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

– Ability to enter data in digital applications and databases;
excellent attention to detail; ability to interpret bibliographic
data correctly; effective Web and scholarly database searching
– Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, document creation using Adobe
Acrobat and Adobe Photoshop; effective organizational and analytical
skills; excellent English written and oral communication skills
– Demonstrated problem-solving, research, and proofreading skills;
ability to work in a high production environment; ability to learn
new skills and new computer applications quickly
– Ability to operate office equipment (including, but not limited to:
basic computer skills, photocopiers, and scanners)
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Ability to work cooperatively with diverse students and faculty;
strong customer service orientation

Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a
computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone,
printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others
and accurately exchange information.
