Summary:
The Market President will serve as the lead executive within a local market, representing the company brand and developing strong relationships with local community partners and centers of influence. This role will set the tone and lead collaboration between banking channels and product partners to ensure financial success through a team-based, client-centric approach.
The Market President, working with the Regional President, is responsible for establishing and executing a strategy to attain and exceed company growth targets, identifying revenue and profit goals, and improving the Company’s standing as an industry leader.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with regional leadership to establish annual vision, strategy, and operating budgets.
Drive the overall growth and profitability of the commercial banking channel within a region through the development and execution of comprehensive strategic business plans.
Develop and execute strategic growth plans and work cross functionally with banking channels and product partners to ensure goals and objectives are consistently met.
Build and cultivate a strong relationship with the local advisory board and represent the Company to key stakeholders. Participate in regional board meetings and strengthen the relationships with those stakeholders to drive success across the region.
Create a culture of sales and service. Assist associates and team leaders, and oversee the sales process through coaching, motivation, and adherence to company sales and marketing processes.
Select, coach, develop and motivate staff to achieve the organization’s business plan. Set performance standards, give clear direction, delegate and schedule work. Monitor performance, give ongoing performance feedback and conduct effective performance appraisals.
Focus on the development of key associates by helping them determine what they need for continued career growth and by conducting effective coaching and performance feedback conversations on a regular basis.
Adopt, support and reinforce expected behaviors and practices related to the loan process, credit quality, and financial performance of the region. Ensure business process and work execution meet the highest ethical and legal standards.
Manage the credit culture and monitor the quality of loan assets in the region.
Evaluate client service model and adjust as needed to ensure outstanding client satisfaction and alignment across the facing teams.
Develop and maintain specific client-level growth plans to ensure value delivery, client retention and growth. Cascade expectations to direct and indirect reports to ensure client-facing resources are aligned with clients’ goals.
Expand and deepen existing products with the goal of increasing audience, deepening engagement, and creating new sources of revenue.
Partner with Marketing to build and execute an effective market-level plan to drive growth, brand support and sales process effectiveness.

Plan, administer and control budgets.
Develop and review operational reports.
Ability to develop and lead teams to create a culture of excellence and accountability.
Strong organizational, project and time management skills, able to address multiple projects/requests and meet tight deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Engage and retain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training associates; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; and developing and managing personal growth plans and opportunities.
Accomplish team results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising performance results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; and developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Economics, or ten or more years of related experience and/or training required. MBA preferred.
Work related experience must consist of management experience in the financial services industry. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
