THE JOB
We are currently seeking a Lead Driver who will be responsible for driving designated vehicles and transporting products to specified destinations, to include loading and unloading trucks in a safe and efficient manner. This person will lead CDL Driver and Technician workforce activities on job sites as required to achieve production goals, ensure safety / health and regulatory compliance, and meet customer requirements while also participating in the CDL Driver new hire process, including new driver orientation, truck specific operation, D.O.T. road test certifications and internal driver training certifications.
– Operates commercial vehicles and non-DOT regulated equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous products to various locations as directed in a successful and timely manner. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, roll off, dropbox, vacuum (wet/dry), VacCon, and guzzler trucks.
– Conducts regular truck driver meetings and presents at company monthly meeting on topics including, but not limited to, company/regulatory updates, driver gear bag inspections, pre- and post-trip reviews, and driver related issues.
– Conducts weekly truck inspections to include pre- and post-trip compliance, truck cleanliness, and document inspections (registration, insurance, etc.)
– Participates in client requested job walks to determine manpower and equipment requirements or task characterization.
– Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations and company work rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
THE PAY & BENEFITS
• Position Wage Range: $31.69 – $38.39 / hour (includes current CDL Driver wage rate and $3.00 / hour lead premium)

THE CATCH
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
A minimum of three years increasingly responsible experience driving commercial vehicles and leading marine and industrial cleaning tasks is required.
Ability to operate and maintain water blasting equipment.
Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and assist in the training of others.
Communication skills necessary to guide and direct others, resolve conflict, and interact with customers and personnel at all levels of the organization using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
Ability to manage site time and resources to achieve stated goals and objectives.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive communications.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Must have a current, valid drivers license and maintain a good driving record to operate company owned vehicles.
Must have a Class A Commercial Drivers License with HAZMAT and tanker endorsement.
Must be certified as an HM-181 Hazardous Materials Transporter, First Aid/CPR Responder, and Shipyard Competent Person.
Completion of OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 10- Maritime Industry training.
Certified in Confined Space Entry & Rescue, Manlift Operator and Forklift Operator.
Completion of all assigned Safety Training.
Must be able to work in confined spaces and at various heights (up to 60 feet).
