Join our team at EWU as a Banquet Chef — Cook 3 where youll play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary landscape of our vibrant campus community! As our Banquet Chef, you will direct and participate in the daily operations of our kitchen, focusing on catering and events while also assisting in daily meal service for campus dining. Your creativity in menu development, expertise in food preparation, and commitment to safety and sanitation will shine as you lead a talented team of food service staff.

 

Qualified individuals should have catering and banquet experience including hot and cold appetizers, trays, lunch events, main courses, and desserts.

 

Banquet Chef Responsibilities:

Direct Food Preparation: Collaborate with managers and supervisors to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Menu Development: Create enticing catering and event menus, including special diet options, while producing high-quality dishes with exceptional presentation. Production Management: Establish prep lists, timelines, and assignments to optimize efficiency. Meal Service: Oversee plated meals, buffet service, hors doeuvres, and snacks for a variety of campus events. Inventory & Costing: Assist in meal planning and inventory management, while estimating ingredient costs. Training & Guidance: Build training materials and recipe guides to enhance the skills of our kitchen staff. Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness and compliance with food safety standards, while monitoring and maintaining kitchen equipment.
